Utility Feasibility

The feasibility stage lays the groundwork for every successful utility connections project. The Developer contacted us prior to buying the site, we completed a multi-utility survey and in this case a site visit. We conducted a thorough review of the site and project requirements to assess the viability of proposed connections, alterations and disconnections. Our team evaluated the technical constraints, regulatory requirements and potential costs to provide a clear picture. Risks to project timeline or costs were identified early, enabling informed decision-making and minimising potential delays. By combining industry expertise with a detailed site analysis, we helped the developer move forward confidently with their project.

Demolition

This site required a demolition of the existing building.  Before demolition began it was essential to disconnect existing utility supplies safely and in compliance with regulations. Our team managed this critical stage by coordinating with suppliers, submitting applications and managing the safe disconnections of supplies.  Ensuring the correct process was followed meant supply contracts were terminated correctly and the client would not receive any further bills.  We identified and addressed any challenges, such as redundant infrastructure or hazardous materials and the site was cleared efficiently and prepared for the next phase of development. On this build we were able to utilise some of the existing supplies within the old hotel as temporary building supplies by moving them to the site boundary.

This site required a new main for Gas, Water and Electricity to be brought into site.  They had bulk supplies into the building and internal meter manifolds for Gas and Water and a BNO arrangement for electricity – not forgetting those apartments that had their own external front doors – to meet current regulations they had their own supplies. We oversaw everything from planning and approvals to connection and commissioning, ensuring compliance with all industry standards. Our expertise meant the client could rely on a seamless and efficient process that kept the project on track.

Metering is the final step in connecting a property to essential utilities, ensuring accurate measurement and billing of usage. On this site we worked closely with energy suppliers to arrange the installation of meters tailored to our clients’ needs, residential metering for the individual apartments, commercial metering for the landlord supplies and a mixture of BNO (Building Network Operator) and individual meters we advised on the best metering options and managed the installation schedule.  We provided a hassle-free experience.
